In October 2011, senior international and Ukrainian experts and policy makers gathered to discuss the economic, social and cultural impacts of migration on Ukraine’s future development, at a conference, organized by Ukrainian Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Aiming to advance the understanding of the opportunities and challenges of migration in the Ukrainian context, IOM Ukraine arranged the conference to mark the Organization’s 60^th Anniversary globally and 15 years of its presence in Ukraine.

IOM is grateful to all the conference participants who contributed their theses for this publication. Ukrainian version of the report will follow soon.

In April-July GfK Ukraine carried out the research on awareness of Ukrainian citizens’ on different forms of
human trafficking for Counter Trafficking Program of Mission of the International Organization of Migration in
Ukraine.

Main research question were the following:
< Which information should be disseminated to prevent human trafficking?
< What are the target audiences of such information?
< Which communication channels are the most effective?

This Non-paper "Integration of Migrants in Ukraine" is a situation and needs assessment, which was prepared OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) by Piotr Kazmierkiewicz, a migration expert, with IOM assistance.

This  publication covers the project "Technical Cooperation and Capacity Building for the Governments of Ukraine and Moldova for the Implementation of Readmission Agreements with the European Union" (GUMIRA).

The World Migration Report 2010 (WMR 2010) willbe the fifth in IOM's series of biennial reports on international migration.Like the World Migration Reports that have preceded it, it is intended tocontribute to the mission of the International Organization of Migration (IOM)to promote 'humane and orderly policies in the movement of persons acrossborders'. Specifically, its aim is to promote a focus on building capacities toenable states and other stakeholders to respond to and plan for migration effectivelyand in a sustainable way.
